DirectionsFrom the SouthFrom M40 join the M42 and then take either the A34 or the A45 in the direction of Birmingham. These will both eventually bring you on to the A41 (Digbeth High Street/Deritend). As you enter the City Centre you will pass the Irish Community Centre on your left-hand side and the next turning on the left, just before Birmingham Coach Station, should be Rea Street. Turn left here, and at the first junction with Bradford Street turn right. Take the next left onto Sherlock Street, and follow the road round until you reach the mini roundabout. Take the first exit, and turn left at the first set of traffic lights on to Hurst Street. At the next set of traffic lights, Bromsgrove Street crosses Hurst Street. Although you cannot go straight on, the venue is about 50 yards further up Hurst Street on the right. For parking see below. From the NorthLeave the M6 at Junction 6 and join the A38M in the direction of Birmingham City Centre. As you approach the City Centre you will see the University of Aston on your left-hand side. Stay on the A38 as you go OVER the flyover, UNDER the underpass and THROUGH the tunnel. On exiting the tunnel, bear left onto the slip road, up onto the roundabout with the Pagoda in the centre. Head straight across the roundabout, and take the second left hand side street (Essex Street). Take the next left (Hurst Street) along side the rear of the Hippodrome. For parking see below. From the South WestLeave the M5 at Junction 4 and follow the Bristol Road (A38) into Birmingham City Centre. After the major set of traffic lights, with the MacDonalds Drive-Thru on your left, continue straight on along the dual carriage way, but stay in the right or middle lane. As you approach the underpass, keep left and take the slip road up to the roundabout (follow signs for New Street station). At the roundabout you will see the Pagoda in the centre, and the Radisson Hotel diagonally opposite. Follow the roundabout all the way around, as it turning round and heading back onto the Bristol Road. Once on the slip road, take the second left hand side street (Essex Street). Then take the next left (Hurst Street) along side the rear of the Hippodrome. For parking see below. Parking:On street parking is available (free after 6pm) on Hurst Street and Bromsgrove Street (at the traffic lights on Hurst Street). The Arcardian car park entrance is on Bromsgrove Street, although charges are quite expensive. From Birmingham New Street StationThe venue is 5-10 minutes walking distance. Take the right hand exit out of the turnstiles of the station (NOT up the escalators). Through the doors, past the taxi rank towards the New Bullring. Before reaching the shopping arcade, turn right onto Smallbrook Queensway, towards the traffic lights at the crossroads at the bottom of the short hill. Turn left and cross over the traffic lights towards the Chinese Quarter (underneath the archway with offices on the top). Head straight towards the bar called 52 degrees (insert the o symbol here), crossing the road. carry on straight, past the Hippodrome on your right, towards The Old Fox on the corner. Walk past The Old Fox, and the crew entrance to The Glee Club, to the main entrance of the pub. |
